About Jackie

Jacqueline “Jackie” Sartoris is a lifelong Democrat and advocate for progressive change.

Law

Jackie graduated Maine Law cum laude in 2010, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. 

While raising three children, Jackie practiced as an elder law attorney for several years.

In 2018 she became a prosecutor in Augusta, working on the Veterans and Co-Occurring Disorders treatment courts.

In 2022 she was elected District Attorney of Cumberland County.

Democracy

Jackie Sartoris served four terms as a Brunswick Town Councilor (2000-2007).

Jackie Sartoris co-founded the Brunswick Chapter of Indivisible in 2016, and served as Vice Chair of the Brunswick Democratic Party Committee in 2010.

Policymaking

In the early 2000s, Jackie Sartoris was worked as a Senior Planner for the Maine State Planning Office on environmental policy. 

In that capacity, Sartoris won a National Wetlands Award for her work in leading a Governor’s Task Force to fully rewrite Maine’s wetland laws and regulations.

Family

Jackie lives in Brunswick with the youngest of her three children (now a junior at Brunswick High) and two dogs.

Her hobbies include singing, cross-country skiing, and encouraging active participation in our democracy.
